Your club needs you !!

At Longridge Town, we rely heavily on volunteers. With the number of players growing at the club, we are restricted to the amount of people that can train by the number of coaches available.

We would be interested in hearing from you if you are interested in coaching at any age group, but especially at our under 7 age groups as they start their footballing journey.

What's involved in being a coach....

Coaches will generally work in a team of 2 or 3 and will help to run a particular age group. They will follow that team from U7, right up to U16. You will be responsible for the team at training sessions and on matchdays.

The majority of coaches in grassroots football will have a child within that age group and will take the team on to be involved in their child's development, but the truth is that many coaches will never have dreamed of being a coach. The sad reality is, without a parents assistance, these teams will never exist.

How will the club support me ?

All coaches must be FA Level 1 qualified, but this is not as daunting as it sounds and guidance can be found on the FA's website, www.thefa.com/get-involved/coach/courses/all-course/the-fa-level-1-in-coaching-football

You will need to undergo a CRB check as well to allow you to work with children.

The club will provide you with all the equipment you require and will provide you with a club kit. We will also offer support and guidance throughout your coaching to assist you with sessions.

Without volunteers as coaches, there will be no junior football.
